Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you begin.
How does a project unfold? +
Every project begins with a discovery conversation. We then guide the reflection, the building of the narrative, the preparation of the participants and the organisation of the recordings. The testimonies are then edited and assembled to create a sound object that is coherent, lasting and easy to pass on.
How much time should I allow? +
It depends on the nature of the project and the number of participants. Most projects unfold over several weeks, to give everyone the time to reflect, record and contribute calmly.
Who is Transmission for? +
Transmission is for anyone who wishes to preserve and pass on a story, a memory, values or a life experience to their loved ones, today or for generations to come. Every project is unique: a life story, a family history, intergenerational transmission, the memory of a parent who has passed away, intangible heritage, a professional journey or a personal commitment.
Who can take part? +
A single person can be recorded, or several members of a family, friends, colleagues or loved ones. Together we define the people best suited to tell the story and the different facets of a journey.
Do I need to be comfortable speaking? +
No. Transmission seeks neither performance nor eloquence. The most moving stories are often the simplest. Our role is to create the conditions for sincere, free and authentic speech.
Can a Transmission project be given as a gift? +
Yes. A Transmission project can be offered for a birthday, a birth, a retirement, a wedding or any other moment when you wish to preserve a precious memory.
